Rie Miyazawa April 6, 1973. She’s of Japanese and Dutch heritage. In ’92 she was engaged for 2 months to the great sumo Takanohana. In 1994 she cut her wrists with broken glass “accidentally”.

Born: April 6, 1973
From: Tokyo
Blood Type: B
Height: 167 cm
Measurements: B80 W56 H80Rie’s super best selling photobook, “Santa Fe” sold 1.3 million copies in 1991, a record for the genre. There has been some controversy as to whether the book is now legal to own because she was a bit shy of her 18th birthday when she did the shoot. Technically, according to the Child Protection Act in Japan in 1999, any depiction of a minor, nude or “partially nude”, meant to elicit “sexual desire” is illegal. (Which is a farce considering all the “junior idols” and “loli” stuff with very young girls in string bikinis openly for sale in Tokyo.) I’d say Rie’s photos are “art” and not prurient in nature. No one has been prosecuted for owning or posting the collection to date. (A revised edition was published in 1999 after the law was passed.)
Rie Miyazawa has actually had an astonishingly good career, starting with fashion modeling at age 11. She’s been an actor, a model, and a singer with an incredibly impressive resume. Unfortunately, she apparently has a very domineering “stage mother” which may have contributed to alleged alcohol abuse and an alleged attempted suicide, the news of which temporarily hurt her career, especially because she was usually portrayed as the wholesome type. Ironically, her first professional stage appearance was in “Gypsy”, which is a play about the famous stripper, Gypsy Rose Lee, whose antagonistic mother pushed her into a stage career.
Rie has been a well respected and highly talented professional. She is still working, winning the 41st Broadcasters Fund Performing Award in 2014, appearing on stage in Chekhov’s “Three Sisters” in 2015 and again on stage in “Vinyl Castle” last year. She still does commercials and celebrity appearances. Here’s her Wiki Page.
Oddly, I was reading about this photobook controversy just this morning. Also oddly, I no longer have the photobook in my collection because of a robbery of my computer equipment several years ago, but here are some shots that I’m sure are just fine.
BTW, BobX has an excellent collection.

And here is Rie as part of a kimono fashion show. Just lovely.
Here are some more recent photos of the beauty in her current, more mature, life. The last one is of Rie modeling for a kireca (fashions and make-up company) article on how to wear make-up with glasses.
