Chiaki Kuriyama (10/10/1984) was one of my first asian crushes way back in 2003. Who doesn’t remember Kill Bill‘s psycho homicidal schoolgirl? She made several more films but I only managed to see her as crazy bitches in both Battle Royale and The Great Yokai War (a bizarre fantasy film by Takashi Miike). She also has dabbled in singing and has been a model in her teenage and pre-teen years.

To me Chiaki is the typical example of “beauty in the imperfections”, I don’t describe her as classically beautiful but she’s always been alluring and fascinating.

She made a few photobooks when she was a pre-teen, and one of these, Shinwa-Shoujo (Girl of the Myth) contained a couple of nude pictures so it was later removed from the market.

Yep, she was outstanding in Kill Bill—she managed to out-fighter babe Lucy Liu, which is really saying something.
Though I didn’t follow her anymore, I’m kind of sad that after Kill Bill her career in the West pretty much ended, I think she could have done more… then again there aren’t that many Japanese actresses that became famous in the West.
