Throwback Thursday – Lucy Liu’s Lesbian Kiss Scene from Ally McBeal

Many pundits say that US television’s first interracial kiss was between Captain Kirk and Lieutenant Uhura (William Shatner and Nichelle Nichols) in a 1968 episode of Star Trek. Actually, that isn’t true because Lucy and Ricky Ricardo (Lucille Ball and Desi Arnez) kissed many times on screen in I Love Lucy over a decade earlier, but I digress. Above is US television’s first interracial lesbian kiss, between Ling Woo and Ally McBeal (Lucy Liu and Calista Flockhart), in an episode of Ally McBeal entitled “Buried Pleasures,” which aired in November of 1999. It didn’t suck.

Throwback Thursday – Chieko Shiratori’s Workout Scene from Tokyo Blue: Case 1

Even though she’s seemed to have disappeared from the public eye over a decade ago and now resides in the “Whatever Happened to..” file (as this post at the old site covers), 90s V-Cinema queen Chieko Shiratori is still well-known and remembered by fans of the genre.

Above is a then-23-year-old Cheiko as Detective Mika Hino working up a sweat in 1998′s Tokyo Blue: Case 1, which was the first of the three “Metropolitan Police Branch 82″ films. Also in 1998, which seems to have been her banner year, Miss Shiratori was the 7th of the 10 actresses (covered here at the old site) to step into the role of Special Undercover Agent Rei in Zero Woman: Dangerous Game.

The Ladies of Red English

In an effort to get Korean businessmen more motivated and excited about learning English, a few online companies have popped up within the last couple of years, offering English lessons taught by beautiful young ladies. One such company, Red English (a term used in Korea for an adult website is a “red” website) seems to stand out as being the most blatant when it comes to selling English lessons with sex appeal, as a view of their above promo video will attest to. However, the lessons the pretty instructors teach are as legitimate as any taught by Korean English teachers at private language academies in Korea and ’nuff said about that. Like their lessons, Red English’s website is all in Korean, except for a few English words here and there.

Throwback Thursday – Kobe Tai’s Lapdance Scene from Very Bad Things

The above scene from the 1998 black comedy Very Bad Things features a then-26-year old Kobe Tai as exotic dancer Tina, providing the entertainment for a group of five horny men (led by Christian Slater in one of his best performances) at a bachelor party in their Las Vegas hotel room. When one of the group decides to take Tina for a private “ride” in the bathroom and gets a little overzealous and inadvertently makes her a wall decoration, that’s the beginning of the very bad things that happen for the quintet. Although the above scene is the only one that features Kobe, this movie is definitely one worth seeing, especially if dark humor is your thing.

As far as Kobe; she retired from porn in 2003 but, according to a Tweet by her fellow Asian hardcore colleague Lily Thai, last February, signed with Lily’s manager and is now doing “bookings” with her.

Throwback Thursday – Mimi Miyagi Interviews Mika Tan

Here’s a then-26-year-old Mimi Miyagi interviewing a then-22-year-old Mika Tan during a break from shooting Fantasiany 3 in late 1999. You have to take what most porn stars say about their past with a grain of salt, but going from most of the info on Mika from fairly credible sources, what she says here about her pre-porn days and induction into porn, is truthful.

At the time this was shot, most porn was quickly going from video to the booming Internet, and Mimi (featured at the old site, during her failed 2006 Nevada gubernatorial run) was producing her own videos, such as the “Fantasiany” series, for her self-designed website. She’s currently retired from the adult entertainment biz and is now reported to be pursuing entrepreneurial and humanitarian endeavors. Mika (featured at the original site here) has since become just as big a name in porn as Mimi and has also moved into production, as well. As of this writing, she is supposedly updating her website and there has been no announcement or indication of her retiring from the adult industry.

Asa Akira – Jesus I Love You!

The above video uploaded last month by artist David Choe to DVDASA‘s Vidme channel, features porn star Asa Akira singing a contemporary Christian song with a trio of guys that will probably cause the casual viewer to wonder about the whos, wheres, and whys, despite being treated to a nice, long view of Asa’s remarkably firm twin peaks.

For those of you who may be interested in some backstory to this video; according to a seemingly-informed commenter who goes by “saadbabu” in the Reddit thread that Choe began with a link to this video, it was shot at a “mystery ranch” somewhere in Big Bear, California some time within the last four to five months. The guys featured with Asa in the video are (left to right) Steve Lee (brother of Bobby Lee, formerly of MAD TV), Critter Fleming (stated as occasionally functioning as David Choe’s body guard/manager), and Choe, himself. “saadbabu” went on to state that the DVDASA (allegedly standing for either/both “Double Vagina, Double Anal, Sensitive Artist” and/or “DaViD choe ASA akira”) has “mysteriously been on hiatus for quite a while now and this is the first new material to come from it since.”

Asian Ladies Taking the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge

One of the latest charity fundraising activities currently sweeping across social media is the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. It originated in the US but is quickly catching on in other countries, South Korea (thankfully) being no exception.

Above are MiU and Ari of the Korean dance team Waveya (first featured here) accepting the challenge. Even though the girls don’t meet with official Ice Bucket regulations (Five-gallon bucket at least half full with ice and ice cold water) they definitely show their support with good spirit.

As the challenge is spreading like wildfire, between this writing and the time this is posted, there’s bound to be many more celebs who’ve accepting and posted their videos. What follows are just a few selected Asian female celeb drenchings.

Throwback Thursday – Kei Mizutani as Weather Woman Keiko Nakadai

V-cinema queen Kei Mizutani‘s movie debut as Keiko Nakadai in the 1995 adult comedy Weather Woman, was arguably her signature role. Above we see Kei as Keiko, making her first appearance as the new weather woman at a Tokyo news station. After she raises her skirt to illustrate the depth of a recent snowfall, thus exposing her panties on the air (and bringing back an old memory for her former high school classmate viewing), Keiko becomes an overnight sensation.

As for the now 40-year-old Kei, after Weather Woman, she continued acting throughout the rest of the 90′s but passed on reprising her role as Keiko in the 1996 sequel, Weather Woman Returns. (The role went to Misa Aika, who now resides in the “Whatever Happened to..?” file.) Kei did make an appearance at the 2000 San Diego Comic Con, where Weather Woman made its US premiere, but since then, she pretty much retired from acting, save for a rare occasional part, such as her small role in 2010′s Flower and Snake 3.

Throwback Thursday – Naoko Iijima’s Shower Scene from Zero Woman: Final Mission

The third entry in the Zero Woman franchise, 1995′s Zero Woman: Final Mission, had actress and gravure idol Naoko Iijima as Special Undercover Agent Rei, in what was definitely not her final mission. Rei went on to tackle seven more assignments in the forms of just as many different actresses. You can see the full chronological rundown of all the Zero Woman films in the franchise and actresses who played Rei, in this piece at the old site.

As for the now-46-year-old Miss Iijima; she continued with her acting career, going from 90s V-cinema productions to television. She married a company CEO in late 2012 and her latest role was in a Japanese sitcom entitled Last Cinderella, which ended its run just last year.

Park Ji-yoon on SNL Korea

If you’ve seen the 2008 US Saturday Night Live skit with Beyoncé, that spoofs the making of her “Single Ladies” music video, then this March 2014 SNL Korea ripoff, with singer Park Ji-yoon and her 2000 “Coming-of-Age Ceremony” (aka “Adult Ceremony”) dance number getting the same treatment, doesn’t need any translation.

If you prefer not to endure the male comics’ foolishness in this sketch, skip ahead to 5:40, after some real backdancers come out and the 32 year-old siren shows she’s still got the moves to what is arguably her signature song and dance routine. See more at her official website.
