This is just one of his hobbies.

Based on the 1995 novel by Kim Jae-sik and shot in Vancouver, Canada by a Korean production company, the 1998 film A Night On the Water was Playboy model Sunghi Lee’s first and only starring film role. The story flashes back to follow the tale told by a recently canned hotshot investment trader who meets a hooker named Phoebe (Sunghi), who believes she’s a killer whale stuck in that Playboy model’s body.

Despite the film being considered a turkey by most B-movie pundits, the above steamy striptease Sunghi’s Phoebe character gives shortly after the pair meet, makes Melanie Griffith’s dance as “Holly” in 1984′s Body Double, seem lukewarm, at best. Sunghi’s sexy performance, combined with some awesomely bad acting from the supporting cast, is testament to why yours truly believes A Night On the Water is a movie worthy of cult status.

As many readers of this site already know, Sunghi, now 44, shut down her website in 2011 and retired from modeling and acting. She now lives a domestic life in Southern California. For those interested, the song she’s grooving to here is “Keep Me In Your Mind,” released in 1996 by Bulgarian singer Carolina, who now resides in the “Whatever Happened to..?” file.

Above is Taiwanese yoga instructor, know as Yoga Goddess Yan (瑜珈女神 房妍), opening up the July 6th CPBL game at Taoyuan International Baseball Stadium between the Brother Elephants and Lamigo Monkeys (yes really, I did not make those names up) with a ceremonial first pitch that was less impressive than her flexibility and the outfit she wore.

It’s not uncommon for sexy female celebs to open up professional baseball games in the Chinese, Japanese, and Korean leagues (as this post at the old site shows), but it seems Miss Yan’s recent appearance here has garnished the most media attention since Korean rhythmic gymnast Shin Su-ji’s pivotal pitch last year.

Even though the amply-endowed Chloe is dubbed as a breast guest anchor in Naked News’ video archives, the above video from a few years ago (her one and only for the program) is actually an audition and was never a segment of a regular Naked News show.

Why she wasn’t chosen to be a permanent bare broadcaster on “the program with nothing to hide,” probably had to do with her delivery or slight accent, because, given the physical assets Chloe possessed, they she surely would have been a viewer favorite. For those interested, the ladies introducing Chloe at the beginning of this video are very popular Naked News anchors, Rachelle Wilde and Peyton Priestly.

Above is gayageum virtuoso Luna Lee (known professionally as simply “Luna”) covering the guitar solos from the 1976 Eagles classic “Hotel California” with such perfection, it would surely make Don Felder and Joe Walsh proud.

To date, her Youtube channel has nearly 3 million views and it features her versions of such other popular American rock songs as Santo and Johnny’s “Sleepwalk,” Joe Satriani’s “Starry Night” and Bob Dylan’s “All Along the Watchtower” (which is more popularly known from Jimi Hendrix’s version). Also check out her Facebook fan page.

Unlike the other Naked Newscaster hopefuls who’ve been featured here previously, Carli Bei was eventually chosen to be a permanent member of the “program with nothing to hide.” As Whitney St. John says here during her stripping introduction, Carli first auditioned for Naked News in 2011 but didn’t quite make the cut back then.

Even though Whitney doesn’t say exactly what it is Carli has now that she didn’t seem to have in 2011, Miss Bei was recently selected to be the third Asian lady to permanently join the Naked News team. As of this writing, Carli’s profile is not yet featured at Naked News’ official site, but you can learn more about her from the exclusive interview she recently did with Eyestrain.com.

August 2014 Edit: Eyestrane.com was recently and permanently shut down but Carli’s interview can now be seen at Idol Features, where it’s been republished with Carli’s blessing.

December 2014 Edit: Check out my recent interview with Carli at Amped Asia.

The above video features an abbreviated, 3-minute version of “Allegro con fuoco” from Antonín Dvořák’s New World Symphony, traditionally know as Symphony No. 9, which is by far his most popular musical work. This video features Korean dance team Waveya (first featured here) and was produced by B-Classic, to promote their annual classical music festival, happening this month in Belgium.

More info on the festival is available at B-Classic’s official website. For more on Waveya, whose above and current line-up consists of mainstays Ari and MiU, along with new members Rumi, Yess, and Jin, you can check out their Facebook fan page, which is pretty much the best English source for current info on them. Of course, they also have a Youtube channel, Twitter, and a Daum Cafe fan site in Korean.

The above 2009 commercial featuring Irianian-American actress Ursula Taherian is not for Shiny Suds bathroom cleaner. Shiny Suds doesn’t even exist. This is a faux commercial-within-a-commercial for Method’s safe and environmentally-friendly cleaning products. The fictitious Shiny Suds and its wonderfully-perverted bubbles are to illustrate Method’s message regarding the “dirty” and “dangerous” chemicals most household cleaning products contain and leave behind.

This ad was banned by many TV stations due to complaints over you-know-what by you-know-whom and was eventually pulled by Method for the same reason. To see more of Ursula (but not as much as the bubbles saw ….especially right after she dropped the loofa at the end), check out her official website.

(Note from the Doc: yes, the middle east apparently actually is part of Asia.)

Unlike Melanie and Feya, the other two Asian ladies who’ve auditioned for “the program with nothing to hide” and have been previously featured here, Shannon (above, breezing through her audition from a few years back) speaks perfect, unaccented English. In fact, she even sounds sultry while she delivers the “In Focus” look at Brooke Burke and afterwards during her brief (but clothed) interview. Despite that, she also wasn’t chosen to be a nude anchorwoman for Toronto-based Naked News. Go figure.

With all the “Godzilla-mania” going on due to the recently released CGI remake of the 1954 Japanese horror classic, Godzilla (sometimes written as “Gojira” after the Japanese pronunciation), it’s fitting that someone pay homage to the original that spawned the giant monster movies. However, that’s not what this site’s about, so instead, I’m just paying homage here to the film’s lead actress, Momoko Kōchi.

Miss Kōchi played Emiko Yamane, the daughter of the archeologist who finds conclusive evidence of Godzilla and wants to study the creature, rather than destroy it. In the above scene, Emiko decides she must break her promise to keep silent about an Oxygen Destroyer created by her scientist fiancé, whom she doesn’t love or want to marry, and tells what she knows to the salvage ship captain she does love and wants to marry. She reveals what she knows because she realizes, despite her promise and the damage the device can cause, the Oxygen Destroyer is the only thing that can stop Godzilla.

After Lucy Liu and Grace Park, Sandra Oh is probably the best-known Asian actress on US television, so there sure isn’t anything I can reveal about her here that isn’t already known or hasn’t already been shown. But for those who don’t follow Sandra’s character, Dr. Christina Yang, on the Emmy Award-winning show, Grey’s Anatomy; just last night she said her final farewell to Grey Sloan Memorial after 10 seasons.

Her portrayal of Dr. Yang on the show since its debut in 2005, has earned her a Golden Globe and two Screen Actor’s Guild awards and the above scenes sure aren’t from Grey’s Anatomy. They’re from the 2000 film, Dancing at the Blue Iguana, in which Sandra played Jasmine, a poetry-writing stripper.
