Luna Lee on Gayageum
July 2, 2014 in Singers/Musicians/DJs by CEC | 11 comments
Above is gayageum virtuoso Luna Lee (known professionally as simply “Luna”) covering the guitar solos from the 1976 Eagles classic “Hotel California” with such perfection, it would surely make Don Felder and Joe Walsh proud.
To date, her Youtube channel has nearly 3 million views and it features her versions of such other popular American rock songs as Santo and Johnny’s “Sleepwalk,” Joe Satriani’s “Starry Night” and Bob Dylan’s “All Along the Watchtower” (which is more popularly known from Jimi Hendrix’s version). Also check out her Facebook fan page.

Nice addition.
For something really kinky, you can watch her play with herself here:

That was the hottest thing I’ve seen on this site in some time. And she even does a cover of Satriani!

I was sitting here smiling like a MO FO! Had to ask myself, would I prefer one of our super hot Sirens or one of our super talented Sirens like this lady. Well, if I’m being honest I’d go with the super hot one BUT it would be pretty damn close. Loved this! Thanks CEC.

I have absolutely no musical talent, so this completely amazes me. I love her choice of music and she really is cute as well. I would love to see her do originals if she hasn’t already done some.

CEC: Wow man, thanks for the nice find! I am liking her a lot.
Each time I’ve been to ‘Nam, I noticed that the song Hotel California is the most played everywhere in that country. My Viet friends mentioned it is because it is American, a classic, and is slow- so it is easy to understand and sing along to.
I think she is quite attractive, by the way.

I guess I’m going to have to be the lone dissenter here: each musical instrument has its own timbre which suits certain kinds of music and not others, and I just don’t feel this instrument suits this kind of music. Her playing is certainly technically proficient, however.

Unlike the last post, where I agreed with the Doc, I couldn’t disagree more on this one. She is great.

I think the Doc would have liked it more if she was playing Steely Dan.
But the only issue I see is that the songs she is playing were not originally instrumentals. I’d love to hear her do “Sleepwalk”.
