Sandra Oh – Blue Before Grey’s

After Lucy Liu and Grace Park, Sandra Oh is probably the best-known Asian actress on US television, so there sure isn’t anything I can reveal about her here that isn’t already known or hasn’t already been shown. But for those who don’t follow Sandra’s character, Dr. Christina Yang, on the Emmy Award-winning show, Grey’s Anatomy; just last night she said her final farewell to Grey Sloan Memorial after 10 seasons.

Her portrayal of Dr. Yang on the show since its debut in 2005, has earned her a Golden Globe and two Screen Actor’s Guild awards and the above scenes sure aren’t from Grey’s Anatomy. They’re from the 2000 film, Dancing at the Blue Iguana, in which Sandra played Jasmine, a poetry-writing stripper.

It’s sometimes mistakenly said that Lucy Liu played this role in the film, likely because those who say it are confusing Blue Iguana with the 1997 film City of Industry, in which Lucy played stripper Cathi Rose and also had some pole-hugging scenes, such as the one below. By the way, US viewers can still catch Lucy as Joan Watson on Elementary, Thursdays at 10:00PM on CBS.

Sandra Ho has never done anything for me except to bring back childhood memories of feeding carrots to the neighbours horses over the fence. Lucy on the other hand causes all kinds of biological responses and i love that clip. I love Lucy. Hey that’d be a great name for a tv show!!!

Totally agree with everything kev says on this one. :)

    smellykev,

Oops. that was an unfortunate honest typo… but funny nonetheless :-) . Sandra Oh!!!!!!

LOL! I missed that typo myself. :)

Smellykev hit the nail on the head.

I tend to agree with Smellykev, but maybe not the extreme he chooses to phrase it. Sandra Oh is not particularly attractive, facially, though she does have a nice tight body. I’ve always liked her as an actress, though (great in Sideways) and find her pretty sexy despite not being “beautiful”.

Lucy is another matter. I loved her at first–big time. Then I thought she started to look a bit hard, and she lost her appeal to me for awhile. But I find myself liking her again. She is terrific in Elementary. Anyway you look at it, she sure is beautiful.

    Lucy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My Chinese friends do NOT find her attractive. They are blind idiots.

lol Her face is unique, it has a kind of flat appearance and is not altogether un-horselike. For some odd reason I think she is really hot. Beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder.

Ouch that’s not a censorship worth comment, really? Selective censorship *for shame*. I never have found Sandra attractive her face is just too unique. As for Lucy Liu I love her legs I can’t get enough of them on Elementary, but she doesn’t have the greatest face either, but better then Sandra by a large margin.

I don’t know, I think if it were for any other woman, some of the things said about Sandra would elicit warnings about being nice.

    MaJieMao and Tbone,

I completely understand where you guys are coming from—if kev’s innocent typo was deliberate, then that would get a warning. As for the rest of his comment, he manages to just be indirect/obtuse enough (and funny enough) to get away with it.

Basically, I don’t want to see direct insults here. The safest way to criticise is to say it nicely, but if you are as comedically gifted as kev (and once again, say it in a very indirect and/or obtuse manner), I’m willing to let that slide too—to a point anyway.

Sandra Oh-Oh my goodness. Her thighs and ass were pretty fabulous at the 00:40 mark in that clip. To me her face looks fine…and Lucys’ too of course

Insults are not allowed…. but how about useless internet threats? :)

Nobody, and I mean NOBODY better insult Lucy!

Lucy is HOT. Body, face, brains, personality, etc…..

OK, back to further praise of Lucy….

No, I don’t consider Sandra Oh to be beautiful, but I still find her look attractive and she is very sexy in that video clip.

    I Love Lucy as well!
