Pom Klementieff

Pom stars in the new Guardians of the Galaxy movie. For her bravura “Mantis” performance, I expect nothing less than an Academy award nomination.

As I’m sure we all know, in the comics Mantis is Vietnamese/German. Pom may be Korean/French-Russian, but is such a magnificent thespian that it’s impossible to tell the difference (another reason for that nomination). Named “Pom” because it sounds like “spring” and “tiger” in Korean, Pom has had a pretty difficult life with numerous family tragedies. Traveling often as a child due to her father’s job as a diplomat, Pom was born in Canada (1986/5/3), but now calls France home. Active since 2007 she now has about 18 movie and TV credits to her name, and it looks like the sky’s the limit.
