As it doesn’t feature any Asian girls this video is technically off-topic, but if you want to be able to continue to enjoy sites like Asian Sirens at the same speed you always have, net neutrality is very much on topic. I can barely afford to run AS as it is, so I certainly won’t be able to pay extortion money to US cable operators to maintain its present speed. So if you’re one of our vast majority of US readers, stand up for a continued free, fair and open internet!

I’m not sure why a news story from 2013 featuring an ice cream popiah vendor from Taiwan has once again gone viral in November 2014, but some things require no explanation. Plus I don’t want to be left out of the discussion either.

The tasty Cindy, sells the equally as tasty peanut ice cream popiah (crepe) dessert at the River Street Night Market in Taipei’s Songshan district, and has appeared in the local news to demonstrate how to make them. I guess there’s a new contingent of people such as myself who are now finding out about Cindy and drooling over her desserts which has caused the story to be shared around the internet once again.

Who wants ice cream?

On a more serious note, I wanted to take a moment to discuss Nina Pham and offer our readers an opportunity to give their well wishes. Nina Pham is one of two nurses who contracted the deadly virus Ebola while caring for Thomas Eric Duncan at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas, Texas.

Thomas Eric Duncan, a Liberian man who passed away on October 8th, was the first patient in the United States to be diagnosed with the virus on September 30th. Nina Pham, the brave 26 year old Vietnamese nurse from Fort Worth, Texas who as of the time I’m writing this, is currently in fair condition and has been transported to the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland after spending the last few days in isolation at Texas Health Presbyterian.

I want to wish Nina a speedy recovery from this disease. My thoughts and prayers go out to her, her family, as well as to Amber Joy Vinson, who is the second nurse that contracted Ebola after treating Mr. Duncan. This incident also raises concerns about how we’re handling those traveling from countries with deadly disease outbreaks and the monitoring of those who may care for them.

Those of you with an eye for the news are no doubt aware of the current protests in Hong Kong. J.Smith has certainly been keeping an eye on things and recommended we look at what’s going and some of the ladies involved.

Earlier this month, Thai publishing company Muangthai Book released a public school math textbook featuring a shot of JAV Idol Mana Aoki as their “cover girl.” The photo is originally from the promo shoot for Costume Play Working Girl, in which Miss Aoki (naturally) stars as the costume play working girl. The authors’ names on the above image of the cover, that’s been floating around the net to accompany this story, have been blurred out to protect the embarrassed.

Of course, Muangthai Book didn’t know who Miss Aoki was when her photo was found on the net and selected by one of their employees, but when they found out, they stopped publication of the book until a new cover is chosen. As for the reported 3,000 copies that had been released, it’s a good bet that they’re already collectors’ items, so some astute math students and teachers will probably hang on to theirs, despite a recall.

This has been all over the net for a couple of weeks now, so for more details, a simple Google search will take you to many other articles covering this, such as this one at Rocket News 24.

VietJetAir—who were previously fined $1000 for an unauthorised bikini show—are not only still at it, but have now stirred up controversy for leaked photos featuring Viet supermodel (and the love of French‘s life) Ngọc Trinh. (I have to admit that she’s a favourite of mine too, and seemingly several of our readers as well.) Yes, they actually had the nerve to do a promotional shoot featuring models in bikinis in the airline’s colours—how outrageous! VietJetAir denies that the photos are official (or at least not yet—they say they haven’t yet decided if they’ll use them), or that the leakage of them was a publicity stunt.

Zhang Yuqi‘s fans can’t understand why her director husband Wang Quanan would buy sex when she is so gorgeous. Can you? Personally, I don’t find this surprising at all—I can easily imagine a few possible reasons as to why he might want to do this, but I don’t want to preempt the discussion. So over to you! I’ll have my say once we’ve heard a few of our readers’ opinions.

Kim Pham

Bourbaki alerted us to the story of Kim Pham earlier in the year. While it is a step away from the usual post I think it is an opportunity for a community service announcement that holds true no matter what part of the world you call home.

One of the latest charity fundraising activities currently sweeping across social media is the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. It originated in the US but is quickly catching on in other countries, South Korea (thankfully) being no exception.

Above are MiU and Ari of the Korean dance team Waveya (first featured here) accepting the challenge. Even though the girls don’t meet with official Ice Bucket regulations (Five-gallon bucket at least half full with ice and ice cold water) they definitely show their support with good spirit.

As the challenge is spreading like wildfire, between this writing and the time this is posted, there’s bound to be many more celebs who’ve accepting and posted their videos. What follows are just a few selected Asian female celeb drenchings.
