Rosie Tran was oddly enough suggested by Rosie Tran fan, who has a thing for hot, funny Asians. Thanks for the tip…

Film pundits and fans of the 2004 comedy Mean Girls recently acknowledged the 10th anniversary if its release. Hard to believe it’s been so long since we first saw “The Plastics” clique, led by queen bee Regina George, strutting around North Shore High. Not so hard to believe is that the film (produced by Saturday Night Live’s head honcho Lorne Michaels and chock-full of SNL alumni in its cast) has since developed a cult following.

Even though they didn’t have very prominent roles in the movie, there were three Asian ladies who played unforgettable, however very briefly-seen, characters. Two of whom were Sun Jin Dinh and Trang Pak (above, played by Danielle Nguyen and Ky Pham, who’ve done little acting since) as the two eminent members of the “Cool Asians” clique and rivals for the gym teacher’s “affections.”

This Thai commercial for Headmuns Security Pants has pretty Miss Ploy Nyam speaking of the dangers that concern many of today’s young women living in Thailand’s urban areas.  However, she need not worry any longer, because Headmuns now offers a defense designed to ward off potential attacks, while also providing protection for the wearer’s “lady parts.” These security pants are guaranteed to thwart any would-be assailants by presenting them with something they didn’t expect to find their intended victim to be packing.

Then again ….since it is Thailand ….maybe it’s exactly what some would-be assailants would be expecting to find a young lady packing.

The song that accompanies this spot is “Lovely” by Audrianna Cole, and pleasantly offsets Miss Nyam’s monolog, which one viewer described as sounding like “a cat that’s fallen into a wood chipper.”

The Fung Brothers, David and Andrew Fung, produce comedy and music videos on YouTube. I found out about the duo through their latest music/comedy video that I wanted to share on boba tea featuring a number of lovely Asian women, including some of my favorites such as Elizabeth Tran in a bikini and Misa Campo serving up some delicious-looking treats.

You can see more from the Fung brothers including their previous Bobalife video after the break.

Many of you are old and gross (Ed. note: ♥). But for the youngsters out there that have been to the clubs, you may have seen that clubs seem to attract many Asian women. So Celeste Chen, a Singaporean blogger, created the following helpful guide so that you can identify the names of the dance moves. How many do you recognize?

If you’re interested in seeing more of Celeste, you can find her YouTube channel here, her Facebook here, and her blog here.

Pink Lady was a popular Japanese singing duo comprised of Mie (Mitsuyo Nemoto) and Kei (Keiko Masuda), who will always be best remembered (in the US, anyway) for their very short-lived 1980 NBC TV show Pink Lady (aka Pink Lady and Jeff).

Above are Mie and Kei in a skit from the show’s third of its six episodes, featuring Hugh Hefner and some of his “Bunnies” (played by Playmates Karen Morton, Rosanne Katon, Sondra Theodore, Janis Schmitt, and Jeana Tomasino).

Saturday Night Live Korea made its debut in December of 2011 and has since done quite well in the ratings. Closely patterned after the long-running “live from New York” original, SNL Korea is considered to be in its fourth season, as Korean TV seasons are relatively short.

This excerpt from a July 2012 skit features the show’s host, singer/actress Bada (Sea) overseeing auditions to choose two new singers to flank her in “SES II.” In real life, her two former groupmates did get married but the trio disbanded amicably and there are no plans for a new incarnation of the group. Also, the “diva” character Bada portrays here is far from the reality. As someone who’s had the pleasure of meeting her on a couple of occasions, I can say she’s definitely one of the friendliest and most charming Korean celebs there is.

To see the full skit (but without subtitles), go here. Oh yes; the first girl here who auditions is cast member Kim Seul-gie, who responds to her dismissal by stating a singing rival of Bada’s is ”the best.” The second hopeful is singer Hyolyn, from the girl group Sistar and their sub-duo Sistar19, and I don’t need to explain why her entrance draws such enthusiasm from the audience. The reason Bada’s request to see her forehead is followed by “oohs” is because Hyolyn is well-known to be self-conscious about what she feels is a large forehead, hence her always wearing bangs.

June 2015 Edit: The above video has been blocked by CJ E&M on copyright grounds, but this original article with the video, can be viewed here.
