Mayuko Takata is a Japanese actress best known internationally for her many appearances on Fuji TV cooking show contest Iron Chef, as a commentator and guest taster. However, she has an extensive career in Japanese TV and film. Takata san has also done several TV commercials for major companies (Minolta, Coca Cola etc.) and theater work. She is also a writer, having authored study aid books, a cookbook and contributes to many magazines like Felissimo.
Born January 5th, 1971 in Tokyo, she attended an exclusive Swiss finishing school (Institut Le Rosey) and is a Tokyo University graduate. Takata san translated the Alistair, Le Crocodile Vert children’s books from French to Japanese. In 2000 she was appointed Goodwill Ambassador to France. Mayuko Takata is married to violinist Taro Hakase, has two children and appears regularly on Japanese TV interview and infotainment shows as herself.

Very attractive mature Asian woman. I like the cooking aspect also. I don’t get sushi though? Who would eat something that smells like raw fish?

It’s interesting how the Judges always wind up voting the Iron Chefs as the winners of the battles, over here (Australia) I would imagine the guest would be voted as the winner unless they really stuffed up.It’s an exceptional case when the challenger wins! I find it hard to believe Iron Chef has been around for 20 years. Just seems like yesterday it was shown for the first time.
