DeepSky suggested France, his first Asian siren crush.
France, born France Nguyen Van-Nga July 31, 1939, (Viet on her father’s side), is a French/Vietnamese model and actress whom you’ve probably seen if you’re of a certain age. Born in France, she left school at age 11 to study and became an artist’s model. In 1955 a Life magazine photographer discovered her on the beach and she appeared on the cover of the magazine in 1958. France appeared on film for the first time that same year in the musical South Pacific, and later appeared on several TV shows including Star Trek, and continued acting in TV and films until 2008. France earned a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology in 1986, and has concentrated on that field since her retirement from acting. A quite lovely and accomplished woman I do believe.

This is one true beauty.

very nice glimpse into the past. She may be the reason I caught yellow fever.

I’ve been a ‘shadow’ follower/reader of this esteemed site for quite some time and with the posting of France Nguyen, I must weigh in. To me, she is the original Siren and absolutely is the origin of my affinity for beautiful Asian women. If it was not for her performance in South Pacific, it may have never happened. It all started with the amazing scene in the hut when she first met Lt. Joe Cable and the song ‘Younger Than Springtime’. It was love at first sight for me.
Ms. Nguyen is still beautiful to this day and has been an important voice and figure in the Arts for many years.
She is the Queen and I will always be in love with her from afar. (Geezus, I hope my Japanese wife never reads this!)
Many thanks for recognizing France Nguyen.
