Naomi is a tennis player on the rise. Woody-alien thought we should take a look… He was right.
Born in Japan to a Haitian father and Japanese mother, Naomi has lived in the US, currently Florida, since she was 3, but competes under the Japanese flag. There probably aren’t too many other 5’11″ female Japanese tennis players to give the (until last Saturday) world 19th-ranked Naomi a run for her money. Her previous biggest win to date happened last March, when she beat Serena Williams in straight sets. Last Saturday Naomi knocked off Serena in straight sets again to win the U.S. Open. Although through her antics Serena managed to crap all over Naomi’s accomplishment, the 20-year-old was a more than deserving winner of her first major, with I’m sure more to come. Congratulations!

I’m glad she won. If she doesn’t prove to be another political mouthpiece she could very well be my favorite player.

hard to believe she’s only 20!
At 1.8m tall she is not a tiny one… -
I think she is amazing. What an incredible performance both during and after the match.
