Serious retro.
Forget all the K-Pop girl groups and feminized boy bands, the Kim sisters were there first.
Sook-ja ‘Sue’, Ai-ja ‘Aija’, and Min-ja ‘Mia’ Kim were a female vocal trio formed in 1953, whose primary success came in the US during the 1960s where, among other places, they performed on the Ed Sullivan show more than 20 times.
The first two girls were sisters and the third, ‘Mia’, was a cousin. They started off in bars and nightclubs entertaining American soldiers stationed in South Korea during the Korean War. They were quite popular among the troops, and word of them got to an American entertainment producer who flew to Korea to see their act. They were signed but it took nearly a year to acquire visas. They got to the US in 1959 and began playing hotels in Las Vegas and, shortly after, the Sullivan show. All the girls were multi-instrumentalists and they primarily sang popular American songs. They retired in 1975 after more than 20 years of performing.
There were also The Kim Brothers, a trio who were cousins/extended family members and who sometimes performed with them.
Aija passed away due to lung cancer in 1987. Mia lives with her husband, musician, Tommy Vig, in Hungary. Sue became the first Korean American to be inducted into the Nevada entertainer/artist Hall of Fame in 2014.
We’re certain they never imagined receiving the honor of being elected into the Asian Sirens Hallowed Halls.

5th pic: I believe they also performed in certain Japanese movies.
10th pic: Any guesses who was the most popular with the fellas? Clue: not the one on the right.

I gotta revisit this post. I love these retro sirens. These ladies were super cute. I can only imagine the shitty things they had to go through growing up and I hope they were able to find real happiness during and after their careers.

A foursome seems interesting.

One of the original K-Pop bands. Love their rendition of the song Charlie Brown.

I guess a bit too retro for me to appreciate.
