Time for a mature siren.
This is Shim Mina (born 1972/12/1), more widely known as simply Mina. She’s a South Korean singer and dancer who became famous at the World Cup in 2002, when pictures of her with a bandanna around her chest and a Korean flag as a skirt were seen worldwide. First a backup dancer to some popular Korean artists, after the World Cup she made her way into Kpop and immediately had a hit, with her debut single hitting the top of the charts in the Philippines even though most Filipinos thought she was singing in Spanish. Go figure.
Because of her relatively late entry into the business, she claimed she was born in 1978 but as the truth leaked out, she admitted to her real birth date and apologized to fans. She married a boy band member back in 2019 which caused a bit of a stir considering he was 17 years younger. As far as we know they’re still together and she looks damn good for 52 (or 53).
