Bernice is a 41-year-old standup comic.
Born and raised in China, she came to the US in 2004 with $1000 in her pocket after putting herself through Peking University, the ‘Harvard of China’, then graduate school at Perdue. She had a successful career in tech, working for Microsoft and Hulu among others, then getting into standup in 2018, leaving all the tech behind in 2021 to do comedy full-time. We’d say, personally, we’ve never found a woman standup comedian funny (comedic actresses are something different) but Bernice took up martial arts at age 39 and we value our life.

She has an unusual look. So that is kind of interesting. And she is not unattractive. But she certainly looks all of 40 and is past her prime.
