Lauren Tsai

Lauren was ‘discovered’ on a reality show, but her passion is as a  illustrator and painter.

Born in Massachusetts to a Chinese mother and Caucasian father, Lauren was first acquainted with modeling as a mid-teen. On a student exchange trip to Hiroshima, friends told her she should try modeling in Japan. After returning home she applied to an agency online, got a call back, and returned to Japan the next summer to try her hand as a full time model.

Things were pretty slow, and she was thinking about giving up when she saw an audition sheet online for a new reality show, which turned out to be Terrace House: Aloha State (it’s sort of like Big Brother). That turned out to be a good thing, as after leaving the show modeling jobs came pouring in, and she’s represented numerous big brands. This has also allowed her to indulge her passion for art, and she has had several well received exhibitions. Thanks to stableboy for pointing Lauren out to us.
