Hijiri has been a very successful actor on stage, in films, and in television dramas. She also did three very successful photobooks in the ’90′s.

Her most controversial and publicized work outside of Japan was Ben Wada’a 1999 film, “The Perfect Education” (Kanzen-naru shiiku), which was ” 完全なる飼育” in Japan which would translate to “Complete Breeding.” It’s the story of a lonely middle aged worker who kidnaps a teenager and gets her to fall in love with him. This non-feminist scenario is common, there were five sequels to this film and it is a regular theme in AV too.

She debuted in 1987 twice, once under the name Harumi Hoshino, and debuted again as Rio Yanagawa. She also got into bondage work under the name Nozomi Hayakawa. Japan wiki says she’s also aka Midori Hayama, but I don’t think it’s the same Midori Hayama previously featured in the blog here(despite the similar birthdays):
