Acrush is a boy band with a mix of K-pop and C-pop.
Except that they’re all girls in their early 20s. They use the gender–free term “meishaonian“, which means “handsome youths” in Chinese, rather than the archaic pronouns “he” or “she”. The “A” in the group’s name stands for Adonis, the Greek god of male beauty. Does this make them fe-men? The group was formed after another Chinese pop star, Li Yuchun, found success with a male look. Their official name is FFC Acrush, part of the Fantasy Football Confederation, a sports brand that’s organized to train artists and develop idols. All of FFC’s bands have to learn to play soccer and incorporate the sport into their performances.
In keeping with being true artists. the name of their first release will be “Cha-Ching Cha-Ching”. and no, that’s not Chinese.

This Trans-C-Pop is “sofa king” weird. I get the Takarazuka fandom in Japan, but this… no dice.

My fault. It’s difficult to tell who takes this stuff seriously, sometimes.
