Azumi must have been a great, ahhh, actress, because IMHO—although quite attractive—there are numerous AV idols who surpass her in looks.

Again, that’s just my opinion and I must be in the minority, because Japanese video retailer DMM polled AV fans in early 2012 for the best AV actresses over the 30-year history of the genre and Azumi ranked number 4 out of 100 actresses listed. Azumi Kawashima (aka Wazumi Kawashima and Kazumi Kawashima) was born in Tokyo on August 8, 1979. Already a popular photo model, her adult video debut was in December 1998, and she retired from AV work around May 1999. That doesn’t seem like a lot of time to to be selected #4 out of 100. It must be the…ACTING! Azumi’s videos and photobooks remain popular in Japan to this day.
