Miss Universe 2015

The competition has been run and won and congratulations go out to the stunning, if somewhat controversial winner Miss Colombia Paulina Vega.

There were plenty of highlights, like Miss USA’s ass hugging evening gown, the lovely Miss Gabon and my personal favourite: the moment just before the final annoucement where the studio back lighting made Miss Colombia’s dress appear momentarily see through. But what of the Asian contestants?

In what is an all too common occurrence it seems, the other Asian ladies were once again overlooked. So lets rectify that here—some were really nice too!

The highest finisher was Miss Phillipines Mary Jean Lastimosa, who made it to the top 10.

Miss Korea, Ye Bin Yoo

Miss China, Yanliang Hu

Miss India, Noyonita Lodh

Miss Indonesia, Elvira Devinamira

Miss Japan, Keiko Tsuji

Miss Kazakhstan, Aiday Issayeva

Miss Malaysia, Sabrina Beneett

Miss Myanmar, Sharr Eaindra

Miss Singapore, Rathi Menon

Miss Sri Lanka, Avanti Marianne Page

Miss Thailand, Pimbongkod Chankaew

Miss Turkey, Dilan Deniz Çiçek

And the Asian ladies had a controversy of their own with this storm in a tea cup between Miss Israel and Lebanon.

Miss Israel, Doron Matalon

Miss Lebanon, Saly Greige

Miss China seems pretty cool. Kind of sexy looking face too.

    Miss Japan also

For the last many years, Hispanic girls have made up at least half of the first cut and dominated the later rounds and have won 7 out of the last 12 years. The girls are gorgeous but come on! Look at these Asian girls! They’re smoking hot! I think Miss Malaysia is my favorite but when I go down the list it could change,.. Miss India…Miss Philippines…

    Trump, show some respect!

Miss China indeed… Quite a Felicia Tang-esque resemblance. Superb.

I’m not that keen on any of them; something good about many of them, but then also not. I think Indonesia is maybe the prettiest (or Korea), but Thailand has an outstanding body, aside from towering over everyone else (5’11”)–she looks clearly mixed. Did you see the bikini bottom on Ms. China? I’m nonplussed… It’s conspicuously matronly and inapt for her. I don’t know what they were thinking–maybe it was a sort of draw and they have to wear what I assigned.

    Bubalabobo,

Quite possibly the unsexiest bikini ever (on an otherwise attractive woman, that is).

Miss Korea is absolutely stunningly beautiful (and one wonders how the left side of her dress stays up). (Edit: Upon closer examination of a higher-resolution version of the image, sheer panels can be seen on the front and back, answering the question of how it stays up.)

Miss China is not very pretty to my tastes, but she does appear somewhat prettier in the above-attached bikini shot (although I can NOT stand the high-soled/platform stripper shoes).

Miss Japan is pretty enough — a bit common-looking, with just a slight hint of exoticism.

Miss Singapore is just downright unattractive to the point of me asking how she even made it into — much less through — the Miss Singapore competition. Eye of the beholder, I suppose.

The rest of them hold no interest for me.

(By the way, it’s an all-too-common occurrence to see the phrase “all-too-common” misspelled and unhyphenated as “all to common.”) ;)

    QuantumForce,

As a labour of love rather than a paying gig it’s all-too-common for my English skills to suffer as a result of being distracted by boobs.
    (I blame the editor!… ;) )

    QuantumForce & Luke,

Oops! The editor should indeed have picked up the misspelt too (fixed now), but I don’t agree that it necessarily has to be hyphenated.
