Camay Doan

Camay Doan aka Camay Dee is a Vietnamese go go dancer/import model from San Diego.

And she is freaking HOT if you ask me. She often has an expression that looks as if she has smelled some poop, but it seems to work. She is long, lean and super sexy, but perhaps most importantly she has worked with good photographers and has some quality pictures. But wait, before you all agree with me… ;)

…she does have a tattoo that seems to be growing to an unsightly size :(

Obviously very attractive though not my type. Man, that’s an unfortunate tat!

SO many vietnamese american models pretend to be “mixed”, usually “vietnamese and french”, when they don’t look anything like it and probably don’t have any european dna in them. where does this trend come from? is it any better to pretend being mixed, especially since this feels a bit ridiculous when you don’t look anything like it?

that being said, she’s sexy and all, not completely my type though.

    gunnar,

Aren’t a great many Vietnamese people naturally a mix of native Viet and French? The French were there for years, I assume it’s quite a common combination. Maybe so common it is rarely mentioned as it has become a part of what it is to be Vietnamese.

And I agree. Attractive but her style is not for me. And, Luke is right. It does seem as though she is smelling poop in many of the pics. That’s a HORRIBLE look, IMO.

I noticed that trend too. Nearly all of them are part French & they don’t look the part at all.

Until invention of steamship, which improved long distance travel, the French in Indochina (& Spanish in the Philippines) had few European women & thus entered into liaisons with locals. In most cases, they married into Chinese families, who tended to dominate commerce and were lighter colored than local Malays & other natives. Relatively poor, but ambitious European soldiers and administrators married girls from rich Chinese merchant dynasties. Men had access to wealth, while Chinese had access to those with political & military power. I think Philippines are to this day largely controlled by a mestizos of mixed Spanish-Chinese ancestry.

It’s the same as Filipinas saying they’re “part Spanish”—it’s bullshit to make themselves look classier. Just as all modern Filipinos have Spanish blood, so too do all modern Vietnamese have French blood. Having said all that though, this girl actually does look as though she could be mixed to me.

As a side note: Outside of Vietnam, some of the best Vietnamese food I ever ate was at my cousin’s hometown of Nantes, France- made by an Algerian-born Frenchwoman married to a half-Viet, half-French man.

I once had terrific Lebanese food in Hanoi. When I said that the dish was Lebanese- the Vietnamese chef started arguing with me- saying it was a northern Vietnamese delicacy. After a week of giving each other the evil eye- his wife figured out that his dad was a chef for French troops there in the early 1950s, and those very same French troops were stationed in Lebanon in the late 1940s, and probably brought the recipe over when they were transferred.

We are all red-blooded, all mixed up, and all becoming Vietnamese or at least “Asian”. These women are so hot, how much longer can the world resist? Be it through war, trade, tourism, or whatever- we will continue to be even more blended.

But to the good Doc’s point of people saying that they are “part French” or “part Spanish” being bullshit, said to make themselves “look classier”. I see this a lot….Why do some Asians feel it is a “step up” to be European? Why do some Americans love to claim some Native American (Indian) blood? I also noticed a lot of Aussie movie stars make it well known that their parents were from London- what is up with that?

Her snarl turns me off. I find her unattractive.

Nice figure and height though – It’s nice to have a slim and lean Asian woman instead of the petite or squatty types.
