Is This Accurate?

It’s been a while since we’ve had a humorous or discussion post, so when I came across this image on the interwebs, I thought I might share it with you. Is this an accurate reflection of the normal Asian female ageing process in your experience?

LMAO! This has been floating around the net for quite some time now and, even though the age ranges given here aren’t quite right, the beginning through end result sure seems to be spot-on.

    Hilarious, my wife wife and I are both cracking up. She vows to prove it wrong 8>}

    CEC,

What would you say are more accurate age ranges?

I’ve never seen it before but it’s pretty funny. I’m afraid I’m approaching the blast zone :o

    Luke,

Has your wife had children? If not (and possibly even if she has), you can delay it almost indefinitely if you keep her hormones flowing, if you know what I mean—use it or lose it. ;)

    Dr. Lee,

    No kids :-) it’s a curse and a blessing!

    Luke,

Definitely more of the latter I’d say. :)

    Dr. Lee,

    I’d say:

    Image 1: Accurate
Image 2: Accurate if she remains single. If she marries before 30; shorter hairstyle.
    Image 3: 30-45ish
    Image 4: 45ish
    Image 5: 45ish-60 (rural) or 65 (city)
Image 6: Over 60 (rural) or 65 (city)

Of course, this chart does not apply to celebrities.

    CEC,

I agree that marriage does alter the timeline a little (as does children).

My wife is 60 (10 years more than I) we have 3 children together. To this day when people ask when I got married and I reply I was 20,they look at me and ask “was it legal for you to marry her?” I ask why do you ask and they say I thought you are not suppose to marry adolescents. Most think she is in her mid 40′s. But to be fair, she takes really good care of herself.

children are the real reason, long before the menopause…

This is funny, and kinda true….but,

Two Asian women I worked for were STUNNING even at age 65- one was Chinese and one was Filipina.

I mean, there were 25 year old guys in the office making hush hush comments about how smoking hot these Asian women were. Their bodies were better than most American 25 year old non-Asian women.

Neither had children, and each made it a point to take good care of themselves (exercise, proper food, vacations, meditations, etc).

Just hysterical. Putting aside the nitpicking about the age ranges, I’d say the last two stages apply to women of just about every race. (Of course, there are always the exceptional women who seem to stay hot well into their later years.) But Asian women seem to hold on to that youthful look for longer than most. Therefor when they finally do succumb to the ravages of age, it can seem more dramatic than with other women.

    Still laughing.

Hey Doc, for women without kids, you saying its possible to postpone menopause, on purpose?

    Very funny thing! :)
I think it also depends quite a bit on ancestry. For example, filipinas have some latin blood, so they have a bigger tendency to gain fat over the years.

William, so it’s been 30 years… congrats for that! :)

Not having children is the key—until women have them their hormones think they’re still “in the market”. Once they’ve had them (especially if they’ve had more than one or two), their hormones think “my job is done here, I can rest now”—hence menopause.

    daznlover,

Apart from avoiding children as I say above, staying very sexually active is another way to fool the hormones into postponing menopause.

    Yes, I completely agree.

i live in china as some of you already know, and most women in their 60s and older here never even knew what it meant to be feminine.
it is bad to the point i often get astonished by what i believe to be a couple of old gay men in their 70s, until i realize the shorter one is (was?) actually a woman. i genuinely get confused and often mistake old women to be old men. it is really that bad. anyway they were so heavily brainwashed in the days that they lost a big part of what we may call human reflexion.
of course younger generations take much better care of themselves and they will definitely age much better than today’s old. there are already some women in their 50s who look ok-ish, but they’re far from common.
a lot of this sordid evolution has to do with how asian women change their whole mindset they give birth, the children suddenly become the priority, and they tend to stop caring about themselves. it’s sad, really, but asian women who live in the west generally don’t have this issue.

    Dr. Lee,

Imagine if your parents had felt the same way!

    wingsfan19,

People often say that sort of thing, but if they did I wouldn’t have had any idea what I was missing, as I would never have existed in the first place. Humans seem to have a very hard time getting their heads around the concept of non-existence: it’s not as if you’re floating around in the the ether wishing you had a physical presence or something—you simply don’t exist at all.

But you are here, so you can imagine it, right? And who would moderate this site so that we don’t have the flame wars and misogyny of other sites?
