I have a fair amount of Asian pop inflicted upon me, as I’m sure do many of you (mostly Thai in my case, courtesy of my spouse). Most of it is pretty hard to endure, which is why I was pleasantly surprised when I came across IU, aka Lee Ji-eun (이지은).
IU is a Korean singer. I first saw her in a photo which captured my attention, but it was when I heard her cover Loving You that I was inspired to create this entry.
I haven’t listened to much more of her repertoire so as not to spoil the good first impression, as I really struggle with K-pop.
She debuted on September 18, 2008, and I take it she’s pretty big in Korea and Japan. Given that she has been famous from 15, her look has developed from a chubby teenager into a young lady and she ranked #19 on “The 23rd Annual Independent Critics List of the 100 Most Beautiful Faces”, whatever that may be.

She looks great as do so many kpop female singers. Too bad Korea doesnt have a AV Idol industry like Japan.

Agreed- she is beautiful like so many K-Pop stars, and a Korean version of Japan’s AV Idol film industry would be nice.
But, as I think many have stated on the forum before- Korea is far more conservative than Japan when it comes to that.
So maybe she will do a cover of Physical….I would watch.

hehehe it reminds me of that time a japanese friend brought me a copy of bejean, a japanese softcore magazine with non and non-nude women… a japanese girl, frien of ours, said “ooooh, bejean” and started reading it. by her side was a korean girl, and she was telling her “omg, this is pornography, how can you be looking at this, it’s for perverted men, etc”… she went for as long as the other was reading it, hehehe… it made my day!
