Photographer Jing Quek

Photography Jing Quek

It was fashion design student Kagetsuki who pointed me to the work of Jing Quek, a 23 years old photographer from Singapore. And although I was surprised by his model shoots, it was not until I saw this pictorial that I was convinced of his talent. Great artist! More...

10 Questions for Photographer n.e.w.works

newworks

One of the most frequent and valued contributors to our fora here at Asian Sirens is Thailand-based photographer n.e.w.works. So given that he does quite a bit of 'arty' glamour work, it only seemed right to profile him for our "10 questions for" series! More...

10 Questions For Photographer Dr. Lee

Sachiko McLean

Here's something you've probably never seen before - an auto (self) interview! Actually not really - I'm just answering our standard '10 questions for' series that Robin originated a while back, and which I've been promising to answer for quite a few months now. :-)

As you may know, I am the exclusive photographer (as well as webmaster) for Sachiko McLean's site - my first job as a professional photographer. Anyway, I have some pretty unconventional and controversial ideas about photography, which you can read about in this interview. And to all the photographers whose work I've criticised in the past - here's your chance to get some of your own back! ;-)

I've chosen the image above as I feel it represents many of the things that define my approach to photography. The wierd lighting effect in this image hasn't been added in Photoshop (as I never modify my photos) - it is in fact lens flare. Photographers normally try to avoid this, but my spontaneous approach allowed me to use it fortuitously. The photo below is simply a personal favourite, which epitomises my 'model as part of nature' ideal. More...

10 Questions for Photographer Ed Morawski

Ange Maya photographed by Ed Morawski

When I wrote about new model Ange Maya recently, I was not only impressed with her fantastic body and astonishing hair, but I was also impressed with a lot of her costumes and the artistic quality of many of her photos. Well it turns out that many of her best photos were taken by Ed Morawski, who not only shares my interests in photography and beautiful women but also high end hi-fi as well (he shot Ange for his Olympic Audio ads). We're also both fans of the music of Loreena McKennitt. So as he's photographed several other Asian models as well (as you can see in his gallery), it only seemed natural that I should interview him for our "10 questions for" series. More...

The Girls of Shrimpworld

The Girls of Shrimpworld

Inspired by the work of George Mann, I started my virtual journey to Thailand somewhere in 1996. George Mann is probably less known to most of the younger visitors. But since the day I discovered the sites Adult Asian (not online anymore) and Schrimpworld (with photography of Patrick Gauvain, better known as the infamous 'Shrimp' of Bangkok), I'm a fan of his work.

This week I talked with him and he told me that he is working hard on his website on digital photography where you can find, for example, an interesting Adobe Lightroom tutorial and eBook. As I'm an amateur photographer myself I'm sure I can learn a lot from his tutorials.

Photographer Geoffrey Ashley

Photography: Geoffrey Ashley - unsinnimage.com

Still photos of naked ladies is not all photographer Geoffrey Ashley shoots. But sexy, fun, attention-grabbing images of intriguing women are the primary focus of his work. He has more to say about his style, but since it's all in an image, and I don't feel like typing it all over, you will have to go there yourself.

You should check his work out anyway, because from galley three on there are some very fine looking Asian babes. Direct links to gallery pages three, four and five. I must say I really like his work.

Ayang Kalake

Sarah Azhari (Photography: Ayang Kalake)

His name is Ayang Kalake and he is a professional photographer from Indonesia. I discovered some of his work via Tiara Lestari's journey From Sensual to Elegance.

Who is googling on Ayang Kalake will find a lot of (almost empty) blogs at blogger and blogspot of both Ayang and Tiara which makes me wonder what they are trying to do. Someone?

Photographer Ted Adnan

Haida (Photographer Ted Adnan)

Found this great photo here, but it lead me to the photographer Ted Adnan. He resides in Malaysia, so you will find plenty of great photo's from Malaysian ladies on his flickr pages. The photo above is Haida from the Search for Malaysia's Next Top Female Model, April's heat studio photoshoot session. Ted Adnan was the photographer for this event.

Unfortunately there is not a Set of this event, so also check out another model, Erin, here and here.

CantikFotos @ flickr.com

Outtake from Playboy photoshoot (Photo: CantikFotos)

I may have mentioned CantikFotos before somewhere, but I thought it was time I did it for real this time.

According to his profile Cantikfotos works in Taipei, Taiwan, Indonesia and Singapore. He has a very artistcic, allmost surreal style and shoots a lot in black & white. I like his style, but I guess it's somewhat different from the photography we usually feature here on Asian-Sirens.

Check out his various sets to see for yourself. He also has his own domain besides his Flickr account, but the Flickr pages contain a lot more work. More...
