While those FHM photos of Zhao Wei are pretty sexy, she looks absolutely nothing like that in, as we say, 'real' life.
This summer I enjoyed a few drinks at Shanghai's Manifesto Bar's outdoor deck with Zhao Wei at the table across from mine. Having seen her all over TV and media, she never did much for me. But in person, she was absolutely adorable in a totally Chinese girl next door, non-starlet way. She just came off wonderfully easy on the eyes without much fuss.
I found the same experience in a hotel brush with actress Zhou Xun ("Suzhou River", "Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress")--just damn nice to look at; no movie star airs about her.
Now, if I can only cross paths with Karen Mok (Mo Wan Wei).

Perhaps it's because she isn't especially remarkable - she's a hottie for sure, but IMHO not outstandingly so. On the other hand, I can't imagine any Asian Sirens reader not liking her either. So nobody's motivated to say they like her or they don't! ;-)

Actually still photos are not her best medium. She co-stars in the movie So Close and that showcases her attractiveness much more.
She has more of a super cute girl next door quality.
The FHM cover was in 2002 and the "new asian sex kitten" thing never really panned out. She actually tried singing and put out some CDs. I've seen them in stores. But I read an interview where she said being a pop star was too much work so she went back to acting.
