    Gary Moore, 1952-2011. A great rock guitarist in Ireland and the UK. His solo work didn’t get playtime in the US; I had never heard of him until I heard my nephew listening to him in Thailand. Here’s a great blues song:

    Has anyone heard of Necronomidol? They’re Japanese idols based on metal and the like, but with a very dark image, much more so than, say, Babymetal. The visuals are as dark and somber as it gets, but the music is still accessible even to those who aren’t much of a metalhead (like me).

    They’re still young girls though, so they have a goofy and cute side as well, as this video shows (nice catchphrase BTW):
