Minayoshi Takada (高田皆義) was born in 1899 in Aichi, Japan. He is a renowned Japanese photographer. After graduating from business school, Takada studied photography under Shunyo Narita and started taking photography while working for his family’s securities company.

November 11, 2016 at 6:10 AM #36906In the 1920s, Takada pursued lyricism and structurism in his style, under strong influence of Hakuyo Fuchikami’s pictorialism. He later experimented with various techniques such as soft focus and deformation.
His postwar nude portraits (late 1940s to early 1950s) were exhibited in New York’s Houk Friedman Gallery in 1993 and were reviewed by Charles Hagen for The New York Times.
