Mai Kitajima , Aug 11, 1972. Her father is a well-known actor, and she made her mainstream debut in 1993. She is probably more known for her marriage and custody battle with pop idol Mikio Osawa, when the child was found not to be the son of Osawa after all.

Mai has spent her entire life connected to the entertainment industry; her father is the composer and music producer Osamu Kitajima, and her mother is the actor and singer Yoko Naito. She grew up in California.

Mai did three photobooks, has had some success as as a pop singer, has appeared in 19 movies and scores of television dramas. Unfortunately, there was a major scandal when the custody battle during her divorce from actor Mikio Osawa revealed, as Rob mentioned above, DNA evidence that her husband was not the biological father of the child. The child ended up being raised in California by the grandparents.

Mai found it difficult to find work after the scandal and retired altogether in 2015.
