Laura Shigihara (AKA supershigi) is a songwriter, singer, sound engineer and composer who works mainly in the field of video game music. She grew up in Japan and the USA, since her father is Japanese and her mother French-American, and she graduated from UC Berkeley with a degree in International Relations and Business.
She was offered the opportunity to begin a career as a singer in Japan, but turned it down for personal reasons.Official blog (seldom updated)

In addition to all of her music works, that include teaching piano to kids, she also managed to become a programmer and game developer: she recently released her own game, Rakuen, that was released a while ago to very positive reviews.
