On one site Kyanna (or Khyanna) was said to be Hmong born in Laos.
I think in reality she’s probably Korean and was born deep in the heart of exotic… Fresno, California.

Ms. Song looks far more Hmong than Korean. My best, but limited, understanding of the history of the Hmong people is that they originated from China. The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down: A Hmong Child, Her American Doctors, and the Collision of Two Cultures by Anne Fadiman is an excellent book, and although the story is a sad one, is very well worth reading.
As is the case for others here, I have been impressed by Ms. Song’s pictures for a number of years.
