Melissa is of Chinese and Irish ancestry.

Born and raised in Calgary, Melissa is a Canadian singer who was the 3rd season winner of Canadian Idol back in 2005, and that country’s first female winner. She hasn’t put out any music since 2006. A musical theater actress, Melissa has been transitioning into just straight up acting, currently appearing on IZombie, and previously starring on Syfy’s Dark Matter.

    I have to admit I’m a big fan. I watched Dark Matter because I though her character was worthwhile but the show was just average. She has struggled with her weight over the years but she still smart sexy. Now in the new network series The Rookie which is just ok.

    This is the kind of girl that way back it the day I wouldn’t have placed as Asian necessarily but would have considered gorgeously exotic. Which she is, of course.
