Dami Im has been making waves lately, coming in second in the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest.
And she was pretty unlucky not to win it “after a nail-biting finish, when the international jury made up of industry experts, gave her the highest votes, but was eventually pipped by Ukraine when the public televote was taken into account” (thanks Wiki).
Dami is from the European powerhouse of Australia, yes I know, but Australia’s 30 year fascination with the competition has led to them being included for the last couple of years.
Dami came to our attention on TV show The X-Factor, where her talent and unassuming personality captured everyone’s hearts, and she duly took out the competition. Dami was born in South Korea in 1988 and moved to Australia when she was 9, setting up camp in Doc’s neck of the woods, Brisbane (Logan to be precise). She has already had a couple of hit albums in Australia, and now looks set to take Europe by storm. I wish her all the best!
