Kimo brought Heidi Yeh to our attention via the suggest post page, nice work Kimo. Heidi is a Taiwanese model who has been involved in a scandal!

Unfortunately it’s not of the salacious kind involving nudity or sex tapes, rather it centered around the use of her image in an advert for a plastic surgery clinic.

I’m sure you’ve all heard the stories of Chinese men marrying a beautiful bride and finding when she bears his children they look nothing like either of the parents. The assumption being that due to extensive plastic surgery the lady’s face has changed so completely it is barely recognizable.

Heidi, who says she has had no plastic surgery appeared in the ad, which she believed would only be used for literature advertising the specific clinic. She was chosen because of her nice big eyes and prominent nose, and the children in the photo had their eyes Photoshopped to appear smaller and their noses flatter. The banner read something like “you can’t hide it forever”, and it gathered a fair bit of notoriety across the internet. In the process it ruined the modeling career of Heidi (if you believe her side of the story), who now has her appearance questioned and has had fewer job offers since. She has threatened to sue.
