Lana Condor

A recent article at Amped Asia featured up-and-coming actress Lana Condor.

She is set to feature in the new X-Men film X-Men:Apocalypse as Jubilee. I must admit to not actually realizing that Jubilee was meant to be half Chinese, as I have never been much of an X-Men fan. Either way it’s always a pleasure to see a greater representation of Asians on the silver screen, and I do enjoy the film franchise.

Lana is very young and just making her start in the acting world—without having seen the film it’s impossible to judge her talent but I’m sure she’ll do well. It’s a shame that Jubilee always wore a somewhat bizarre 80s outfit; I think if the producers updated it there would be an outcry. There is not much in the way of pictures other than promo shots, sneak peeks and fan art, but seeing how pretty Lana is I’m sure we will be seeing a lot more of her soon.

Classic Viet nose, Viet jawline, Viet philtrum, and beautiful, full Viet lips. Forth pic from bottom shows the truth! Mine eyes have seen the Glory!

    And that little white dress…wow!

    French,

Hey French, you’ve been quiet recently.

    Howdy Doc!

I’ve been away for two reasons. First, I’ve been dealing with my mother’s health issues- she is getting older and needed me to step in and make some decisions for her future as her health is declining.

And….I met a gal. Despite me swearing off all things Viet she is in fact…Vietnamese, from Vietnam (not Americanized). She has been in the USA for 2 years and I met her at a friend’s party. First date we went to the museum- not the shopping mall.

She saw our site here and did NOT freak out! (She HAS to be a keeper!) I showed her Tran here and she agrees that Tran is very pretty.

What was interesting to me is how she would just stick with me if I had to suddenly go to the hospital to see my mother. She said, “We don’t have to go to a fancy restaurant- just make sure we eat healthy and see your Mom.”

She has such beautiful Vietnamese lips that a friend or two asked her if she’s had “work done”.

She is ten years older than what I’ve dated- and once she figured out I was serious and not just playing, the usual Viet craziness that I ALWAYS experienced with 25-year old Viet women just stopped cold.

One of her sisters told her I was gay; another sister told her I was a player; another sister (she has 4) said who knows what….it was getting all too predictable and I was beginning to think that all Viet women are crazy….

Then one night we had to run to the hospital and she met a few of my relatives. After she met some of the family the craziness stopped. Her sisters stopped making trouble, and she started talking pictures with her iPhone (she is Asian, after all- must be a requirement that all Asian women have iPhones, lol) and sharing them.

We made pho for 12 of my cousins, and now they ignore me and talk to her when they see us. She planted mint leaves in the backyard to always have fresh mint for pho.

The bad: Typical Viet- she pulls out her iPhone and starts chatting with relatives in Vietnam/California/France while we are in the middle of anything. We are never really alone.

Anyhow, good to be back, and good that she is OK with Asian-Sirens. I even showed her the link to almighty Ngoc Trinh. She knew about Ngoc in Vietnam.

I am trying to get her to go blonde for Halloween night here next month….she might…. :)

    Onward!

    French,

Congrats! Actually the age might be the thing—I’ve consistently found that Viet women mellow with age. Those pretty young girls are lovely to look at, but… :)

Sorry to hear about your mum though—I guess age catches up with us all eventually.

Beautiful and natural looking. I find it funny how asians in Hollywood are so rare that they have to be able to play chinese, korean, japanese etc… Just like how Maggie Q made a career in chinese cinema even though she is Viet and Polish. And when I see a Chinese guy playing a Japanese Triad gangster.

    yummynguyen,

its funny it keeps happening as I think generally people are getting better at distinguishing the characteristics from different countries.
