The Super Bowl XLIX has been run and won, and without question the highlight was Kelly Bennion shaking her thing in the Patriots cheer squad (apologies to Malcolm Butler fans).
Alright I admit I didn’t watch it, more of an AFL man myself (Go North!) but I’m sure Kelly was great, in fact she is a very impressive young lady.
Kelly is completing her Ph.D. in cognitive neuroscience and is part of the science cheer squad, aimed at changing the perception of cheerleaders as ditzy blondes. Kelly already has bachelor degrees in psychology and Spanish, and a masters degree in education from Harvard, and says the cheering brings welcome release after being in the lab all day. She is beautiful, smart, athletic and seems really nice too: the other girls must hate her!
