On a more serious note, I wanted to take a moment to discuss Nina Pham and offer our readers an opportunity to give their well wishes. Nina Pham is one of two nurses who contracted the deadly virus Ebola while caring for Thomas Eric Duncan at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas, Texas.
Thomas Eric Duncan, a Liberian man who passed away on October 8th, was the first patient in the United States to be diagnosed with the virus on September 30th. Nina Pham, the brave 26 year old Vietnamese nurse from Fort Worth, Texas who as of the time I’m writing this, is currently in fair condition and has been transported to the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland after spending the last few days in isolation at Texas Health Presbyterian.
I want to wish Nina a speedy recovery from this disease. My thoughts and prayers go out to her, her family, as well as to Amber Joy Vinson, who is the second nurse that contracted Ebola after treating Mr. Duncan. This incident also raises concerns about how we’re handling those traveling from countries with deadly disease outbreaks and the monitoring of those who may care for them.
Edit: As of October 24, 2014, Nina is free of the Ebola virus, and has made her way back home after being discharged. On the way, she made a visit to the White House and met with President Barack Obama, so I’m glad to see that she’s recovered and appreciate the readers here who gave their well wishes.

Brave woman. Same goes for the other infected nurse, Ms.Vinson. They are no different from firemen running into burning building. Take care of people first. Ask questions later. Nina is fighter. I hope she pulls through.

I do hope Nina Pham and Amber Vinson pull through.
What about the drug that the first two patients [the two doctors]received that apparently worked? Isnt it being reproduced ? -
this website has reached an all time low. this isnt a news site. when you post news on this site with naked bimbos in the margin you reach a new low. i thought the HK protest (a place near and dear to me btw) was a new low. nope. this is.

The last news of Ms. Pham from ~about 7 days ago, was that her condition had been Downgraded from ‘good’ to ‘fair’. What that means is difficult to say. A bump in the road hopefully.
Also, as a side note, Ms. Vinson Knowingly boarded flight 1143 with an elevated temperature. Yes, she did contact the CDC beforehand and Yes, the CDC did clear her to travel. Was that a wise choice by the CDC or Ms. Vinson herself? I leave that for your conscience and judgement to decide.

Duncan arrived to US expecting a cure. Now his family claim he was denied proper medical care because he was black & had no insurance. Well, they had no idea what caused his high fever, as until now ebola was some exotic disease in Africa. Nina’s pet dog is quarantined too. When a Spanish nurse was diagnosed with ebola, her pooch was immediately put down. Here, the dog is well cared for, since (my guess) it would be damaging news for Nina if her healthy pet was hastily killed. She needs all the support she can get. She’s getting blood transfusion from a first doctor that was infected in Africa. In weird twist of fate, all people infected have exactly same blood type.

I think even those who enjoy naked bimbos can have feelings for situations of great concern.
God bless Nina and all others who put it all on the line to take care of us.

She’s beautiful inside and out!

The website says Asian Sirens: Discover and discuss beautiful asian women. Are you kidding me? If I was Nina Pham, I certainly wouldn’t want my image plastered on such a site.
How thick do you have to be to understand that it’s one thing to talk about news stories (I’m not even sure why that’s requested on this site) but it’s another to post the image of an Ebola patient on a site surrounded with images and ads for, face it, generally nude, asian women.
Lastly: no one is saying any woman on this site is a “bimbo”. I certainly have respect for any woman or man of subject on this site. But ask yourself this: Do you think Nina Pham wants to be featured on this site?

Jeremy has a valid point. It has nothing to do with the AS motto, or intentions of various people.
Nina Pham did not choose to be a public figure. She, or her family, might be offended, no matter what the individual attitudes the posters and commenters here express.
I recall AS removing posts previously. IIRC, one was because a model did not want to be associated with a site that included nudity and even featured porn stars. Another was because she was underage, and even though her pictures were clean enough to post, they didn’t belong on this site.
Perhaps AS might be interested in creating a second site for news topics, with a link from the AS site, but not vice versa.
