Kanon カノン

LoveAsianWomen recommended Japanese singer Kanon, on the back of her version of Time to Say Goodbye seen above…

The classical crossover artist hopes to take her fame worldwide, and there is definitely a universal appeal. She has quite the set of lungs! I am not sure if her Wiki entry is not updated or if she has been a bit quiet on the recording front for the last couple of years, but hopefully she has more treats in store for us soon.

Siren? …yes. ;) In the most literal sense (as in singer) —the Doc

Sorry, we can only feature nude/semi-semi nude models and porn stars here:-)

Kanon has a beautiful voice, and is very pretty and sexy as well.

Yup quite a set of lungs, I’m going to listen to her sing later.

WOW! A very nice cover of one of my favorite songs. Go most anywhere in Asia, and you can hear this song covered by dozens of singers.

Beautiful woman….waiting to read what the great Doc (noted fan of great music) has to say about her voice.

Hey, what’s with the name “Paul Potts” on the YouTube video? Odd sense of humour.

    French,

I believe that’s the dude singing the other part. I think he was an English guy who was discovered from nowhere.

    Luke,

Yeah, but the name is too close to “Pol Pot”….that is weird!

To answer French’s question, I finally had some time to listen and I must say I’m quite impressed. Particularly by her restraint, which is all too rare amongst classical singers these days (or indeed a lot of pop singers in this age of talent shows). I get the impression she’s carried over a bit of Japanese tastefulness to her performance—the “look at me” culture that pervades the west today is fortunately still somewhat frowned upon in Japan. The tonal quality of her voice is quite lovely too.

    French,

Lol, I hadn’t thought of that!
