Kina Grannis

AllThingsGood recommended we look at Kina Kasuya Grannis—as well as listen to her, because she sounds as good as she looks…

Kina came to the world’s attention by winning the 2008 Doritos Crash the Super Bowl contest. She put her win down to the fact that she posted daily updates to her YouTube channel which kept her in the public eye. I think she is being modest because she is really talented and I particularly enjoy her in the opening video to this post.

She also happens to be very attractive which helps. Not enough? Well she also gave up her record deal when they wanted her to sing songs written for her in favour of producing her original material, showing a great deal of guts and integrity as an artist. I like her a lot, even though I’m not a massive fan of girl pop—it’s nice to see someone who isn’t a sell out. If you want to buy a CD, t-shirt or key ring, check out her store. ;)

    Very cute. And fairly talented.

    While what she plays isn’t exactly my cup-o-tea, it is actual music. It isn’t the usual manufactured pop we get way too much of.

    I’ve followed her and been a fan for some time. Her voice is as beautiful as she is. Her rendition of Sukiyaki hooked me; check it out on YouTube and you just may become a fan as well. Plus she’s got just a great, honest and genuine way about her.

    She’s a great talent and a doll as well.
