I see your point Doc. But I could argue that the image is still offensive in that it supports a stereotype of women as subservient and having a status no greater than that of a dog. The image has no title, no explanation, so the viewer can’t tell what the photographer had in mind. I think that the fact that some people get off on treating a human being in this way doesn’t reduce the potential offensiveness of the image. You can choose to view it as an exhibit of sexual fetishism, and maybe as long as the practice is conducted between consenting adults, then there’s no issue, right? I think the fact that similar images can be found involving other ethnicities doesn’t exclude this particular image as being viewed as racist.

I never really considered that at all when selecting the photo’s. I must admit I don’t personally see it as offensive but if Doc see’s fit I’m happy for it to be removed.
To put it into context of the gallery it was from, it can be found in the links which are all very tame IMO so check it out. I think bondage of varying degrees is pretty common amongst JAV galleries and as such will inevitably crop up when JAV girls are featured.
I see it, like Doc said, as a fetish, and as such just an alternate way of life, neither right or wrong. There is a post coming with photo’s that feature bondage (ropes), they are from a high end photographer exploring their art with that as part of the theme. I guess posted here they may be taken out of context by some, although, to cover old territory, I don’t see AS as a porn site.
I would encourage everyone to explore the links further as there is often a lot of good stuff not to mention a fair bit of work in finding them and putting the posts together and I guess they put into context the aim of the artist, whether you like it or not.
While I take your point on women being portrayed as subservient, I think some would argue that any nude pics have the same effect. I would say that if that is your view I will probably not be able to change it but to me it is nothing of the sort. The female form should be adored, it’s what has brought most of us here in the first place.

I maintain my opinion that there isn’t anything racist about this image—this stuff has a long history, and is very popular amongst Japanese. Personally, I actually share your discomfort with this type of fetish, but it isn’t up to me to judge, and many women truly enjoy being sexually subservient. I also think it is clear that the model is not being forced to do anything against her will in this photo shoot, so I think it’s okay. I’m open to hearing more opinions on this though.

No apology needed. I wasn’t suggesting the image be removed. I’m not that offended by the image, but I do find the image more offensive than the ‘Asian Girlz’ clip. I’ve seen images too, by a “high end” photographer, of his nude models bound in ropes, suspended in the air etc. I don’t find these images at all offensive, and appreciate the artistry displayed. As you suggest, context plays a significant part in how an image is interpreted by the viewer.You mentioned in your post that you don’t see Asian Sirens as a porn site. I can’t help but think of the famous quote by US Supreme Court Justice Potter Stewart who, when asked what constitutes hard-core pornography, replied “I shall not today attempt further to define the kinds of material I understand to be embraced within that shorthand description, and perhaps I could never succeed in intelligibly doing so. But I know it when I see it…”. I think racism falls into a similar category. Consider this. In Australia, we’re in the midst of a Federal election campaign. The asylum seeker policy of both major parties has been regarded by some as being driven by racist fears. Both major parties of course deny this and argue instead that their respective policies are driven by concerns for asylum seeker safety (we’ve had close to a 1000 drownings at sea of asylum seekers trying to reach Australia since 2008). Who’s correct?

As a fellow Aussie (it seems there’s a lot of us here!), I think the LNP were driven partly by racism, but mostly by taking votes away from Labor’s heartland. Labor I think is driven partly by genuine concern for drownings, but mostly by getting votes back from the LNP. That’s politics, sadly.
Anyway, while discussion of racism as it relates to Asian women (such as your original concern) is fine, discussion of Australia’s refugee policy is definitely off-topic.
