Mutya ng Pilipinas 2009 Dance

"Mutya ng Pilipinas" is Filipino for "Muse of the Philippines". As you can see from the opening dance number at the Mutya ng Pilipinas 2009 pageant, these Filipina muses sure can get jiggy with it.

Check out photos of candidates here, and the list of winners here.

Korean Belly Dancer Ahn Yoo-jin

Ahn Yoo-jin

This post about the Chinese ladies taking up pole dancing reminded me of another form of dance not rooted in the Far East, that's become popular there.

Belly dancing was introduced in Korea in the mid-90s by Ahn Yoo-jin (39) shortly after she had begun studying it in New Zealand. Yoo-jin (also know by her English name of Xena) also founded the Belly Korea Academy in 1995, according to the site but I actually remember first reading about her in this article from the Korea Herald in 2001, in which the dates given don't seem to jive. Japanese Panties and Lingerie Erotic Dance Girls

Japanese Panties and Lingerie Erotic Dance Girls

I happened upon this website called Japanese Panties & Lingerie Erotic Dance Girls DVD. They sell DVDs of nude and scantily clad girls dancing around in panties and lingerie. The content is very amateurish, but there are definitely some cute girls in the mix. Here are the detailed DVD Listings. Click on each DVD to see lots of screenshots. There are also two short video samples on that page. For more screenshots click More...

The Women of Kaba Modern (As Featured on America’s Best Dance Crew)

image

Kaba Modern was started in 1992 by a group of Filipino dancers for a performance at a local Pilipino (Filipino) Culture Night and has since evolved into what it is today: “One of the most cutting-edge hip-hop troupes in California.” There's not much to see on their webite, it's actually more like Kaba Modern's online mission statement. Asian babes dancing

image

Some weird music/dance contest in what sounds like Japan or Korea (or is it just the performers?) But whatever, six cute Asian babes dancing in the nude and shaking their boobs and ass. Check it out.

Tang Jia Li

Tang Jia Li

I just recently learned about Chinese beauty Tang Jia Li, a dancer/actress. According to magazine Asian Wave she has a calm "Mona Lisa" smile and a tranquil expression. Her agile body and delicate limbs befit her poise as a performer. After her nude art photo collection was published in China, it sparked so much negative scrutiny from the media and the internet that she almost committed suicide.

Fortunately she didn't and so people in Canada could see her this Summer performing in Senses, a modern Chinese opera about a new and modern face of Chinese women. Without discarding the hallmarks of Chinese tradition and history, the performance features an all-female cast of Chinese dancers, singers, and musicians with Tang Jia Li as female lead dancer. The Peacock Princess: Yang Li Ping

Yang Li Ping

After all my recent posts on Hong Kong cinema (as well as some of Robin and badboy's recent posts!), I thought it was time for me to inject some real class into Asian Sirens. And what better way to do that than with the woman who is widely regarded as the greatest dancer in China - and in my humble opinion the greatest dancer in the world?

Yang Li Ping became famous overnight in 1986 for her performance in the Dai dance drama "The Peacock Princess". Although she's never had any formal training whatosever, she entered the China Central Song and Dance Ensemble of Nationalities in 1988. At the Second National Dance Contest, her dance "The Soul of the Peacock" (which she choreographed and performed herself) outshone all others and reaped two first prizes, one for choreography and another for her performance of the piece. Since then, she has become revered in China as the "peacock princess". More...

Mysterious Mash

Mash

If there's one Japanese girl who's more mysterious than the Kano sisters I featured in my last post, it's underground performance artist and trumpeter Mash. She was featured in a series of photos at Tokyo Topless some years ago, which sadly are no longer available. As can be seen in the above pic, she has a very distinctive 'star burst' tattoo around her navel. Even more remarkably for a Japanese girl, she also has unshaven armpits! Apart from that, I know absolutely nothing about her. Does anybody else have any more info on this girl? More...
