Dichen Lachman

The other day I noticed that in the discussion for Fay Hokulani that fellow member Quantum Force asked a question that I have been personally asking myself for a few months now. How come Dichen Lachman hasn't been featured here on Asian Sirens? Well now she has.

For a while I thought that Dichen was already featured here, but searching through the archives turned up nothing on her, therefore I have the pleasure of putting this article together. Dichen is Tibetan and Australian and was born on February 22 just like myself. I'm just a year older than she is. I found out about her a few months ago when I watched the season premiere of Dollhouse on Fox, and was half of the reason why I continued to watch the show throughout this season. I'm also thrilled to hear that the show has been renewed by Fox for a second season which means that I get to check out more of Dichen.

Every time I look at Dichen, I'm dumbfounded at how beautiful she is. Her look is just so unique. Not only that, but she has a pretty hot body as well.

My initial thoughts on Dollhouse

she looks best in loose clothing. thats all i can think about her. other than that, shes ok

Her look certainly is unique - she has one of the most oddly proportioned faces I've seen (it's as if her forehead is too small for the rest of her face or something). She also has very prominent and sharp facial features - she looks kind of like an Asian Sarah Jesica Parker, and I'm sorry to say that coming from me that isn't a compliment. ;-)

Her face looks fine to me, but I figured that Dichen was only going to appeal to a minority of people. But if I only wrote about those that would appeal to a majority of people, then all I would write about would be Japanese babes, and that would get pretty boring for me.

But I love to look at women who are unique, and I feel that Dichen is pretty hot, so I'll continue to check her out. Hopefully others will do the same.

Oh yea, I'll keep the variety coming. Hopefully I can vary the tastes of the readers with the women that I write about. One thing I won't do is write about someone for the sake of variety. I will always write about someone who I feel is pretty hot.

But yes I do have to disagree with Dichen being the Asian Sarah Jessica Parker because Sarah Jessica Parker is a man. Sarah is far from hot and has a horseface whereas Dichen is elegant and doesn't have the horseface, the big nose, or the manhands that Sarah has. I'm still trying to figure out how Sex In The City stayed on for as long as it did along with coming out with a full-length movie when I wouldn't go within 20 feet of Sarah.

Good job on this post! I'm actually a huge dollhouse fan and this girl definitely caught my eye! Of course she can't compare to Eliza Dushku on the show. I do find something really sexy about her .. maybe you just have to watch her in action!

I agree with the horsefaced Sarah Jessica Parker comments. She is the Asian Sarah! Even before I read the comments, that is what came to mind.

I would have posted a link to Hulu, but that was until I found out that Hulu doesn't work outside the U.S. without using a proxy or something to that effect which is lame. But for those who can view it, give it a look.

I like her CM. ALthough she looks better in motion than she does in these pics. Some people just don't photograph well. But she's hot on the show. Thanks for the write up!

I think she's attractive. I don't think her head is big, just that she is slender. To me, I think she has small shoulders which may seem to make her head look too large, but that's not really a fault either.

I'm curious though if her look is entirely natural or if she's had some improvements done. It wouldn't change my opinion, but in some of the pics, her face looks noticeably different from others. Dr. Lee, you're the expert on augmentation, what do you think?

I'm also curious to know what she would think of these comments and how she would respond. Tranny seems to get thrown around here a bit, horse face, not so much; but SJP? Really? That's brutal! Anyone know how to get in touch with her? I'd love to hear from Dichen? I'd love to hear from her and read her responses to some of these posts!

I never said her head was big - I just said her face was oddly proportioned. As I said, her forehead seems too small to go with the rest of her face. In scientific studies of what people find attractive, a small forehead is almost always considered unattractive (and vice versa). I think it's because humans are normally attracted to "baby like" features (large eyes are another example), due to the fact that we are almost certainly neotonous apes (I'll let you guys look that one up. :-)). We may also subconscioulsy associate a small forehead with small brain size, which for obvious reasons is not what we associate with good genes (hence it is not attractive for us).

neighbours seems to have a habit of putting in a token Asian character that is not attractive IMO, the current one is a shocker. It is a shame because it often has quite attractive western actresses.

Yeah, the token Asians in TV series often are quite unattractive IMHO (e.g. Sandra Oh). There has been the occasional good one though, such as the original token Asian girl in the original Aussie version of Hi 5 (Kathleen de Leon), who was actually genuinely talented and physically attractive. Her successor and American equivalent are nowhere near as attractive IMHO.

When I first saw her on Dollhouse I thought she was hot but when I got a better look at her I thought she looked a bit odd. She still seems to flip back and forth between hot and odd to me. I'd say the last photo has a bit of SJP in it but just that one photo.

I initally missed Halloweendm's question on surgery. I'd say she almost certainly has a nose job, and probably a chin job too. And these are a big reason why her face looks disproportionate to me.

Asian SJP? Ew, no way! I agree with CM on the distance thing from SJP, but my distance threshold would be much greater. ;P

I guess I think Dichen is attractive precisely BECAUSE she has unique, sharp features -- at least they're very different from the cookie-cutter Asians standing next to imports at auto shows.

As for forehead height, I've never found tall foreheads the size of billboards attractive. I prefer lower hairlines myself, so if Dichen's forehead is "too small," then I guess that's another reason she's attractive to me.

And speaking of horse-faces, Sandra Oh fits that bill. :( (I don't really like criticizing her, but in this case it seems to apply.)

I honestly don't get the negative comments here. Just seeing the top pick makes me want to see more of her. I'm definitely going to have to check out Dollhouse!

I don't think that all Asian models have to come from the same mold, and there are some pictures of her that where she looks great (pics 1, 12 and 13 for example). Nevertheless, I have to agree that her facial proportions are off-putting. In a bar, with a beer or two - hell yeah! But as an Asian Siren, not so much.
