Playboy Philippines Non-Nude
Bleh, it's not even Playboy anymore.
A Philippine edition of Playboy will debut on newsstands next week, but the traditionally racy magazine will not show frontal nudity, the editor-in-chief said Thursday.
Beting Laygo Dolor said the monthly magazine — synonymous the world over with centerfolds of bare-breasted women — will feature "anything under the sun of interest to men," combining the work of investigative journalists and award-winning fiction writers.
Dolor told The Associated Press he believed the predominantly Roman Catholic Philippines would be more tolerant toward Playboy than neighboring Indonesia, where the magazine was met with violent opposition from Islamic groups...
..."If you have something like full frontal nudity, the chances are you will make a lot of enemies in the church, NGOs (non-governmental organizations), even in the government," he said. "We don't want to risk our copies being burned."
He added that local advertisers won't pay for space in such magazines.
Miss Earth 2004 Priscilla Meirelles will be their first cover girl. I am not impressed. As they say on the imageboards, tits or GTFO. Playboy Philippines is just one big offline Rickroll. Do the publishers think Filipinos are so utterly uninformed as to not know what to expect from Playboy?
Screw the geoeconomic constraints of dead tree media. Filipinos should stick with Asian Sirens for their dose of Filipina beauty.

She's a good start for the magazine.
As far as no nudity in the magazine: They're just trying to keep up with Maxim and FHM as far as magazines targeted to men that don't show nudity, but show women in sexy clothing. Since they can't do nudity, they're doing the next best thing. Some percentage of the market is better than none is their thinking.

why wouldnt u look happy? Cant we stick with girls rather than old men? I think Playboy Philippines will eventually succumb to todays market trend and eventually... will surrender to its opposing magazines as it is inevitable.
I also want to point out another pinay in Leah Dizon, a lot of "hype" is going on about her at the moment, the las vegas born Flip/Chinese/French has landed deals with the Japanese Media and she is so cute to watch.
I don't think published nudity will see a glut on the market in the Philippines for many years to come Boston. They are still too religious a country for that. The bar districts seem out of touch with that, but hey, the country is waaaay far from perfect.
There are some perfect aspects in the country, though. :)
